The luxe of the luxury industry turned out on Tuesday evening for a cocktail party at the only shoe salon in America with its own Zip-Code.  10022-shoe

Saks Fifth Avenue, InStyle and Assouline hosted a soirée to celebrate Assouline’s
The Shoe Book, a conclusive and visually compelling volume on footwear.

The slick, thick, perfectly red book will match any outfit and the compact size is perfect for the beach or bedside table. Each section of the book is a visual delight (like peeking into a timeless shoe closet) with informative contributions by Manolo Blahnik, Bruno Frisoni, Christian Louboutin, and Sarah Jessica Parker.

The wonderfully expansive Saks Fifth Avenue’s shoe salon entertained more than 160 shoe connoisseurs. The book signing table for  The Shoe Book author Nancy MacDonell  was strategically placed in the center.  Making it easy to buy a book . . . get it signed . . . sip Champagne or white wine . . . mix and mingle with the fashion elite and try & buy the shoes for your feet. . . .honestly that rhyme just came out.

      a few facts about Saks . . . . . rhyming again
      • Saks Fifth Avenue was founded by Andrew Saks in 1867 and incorporated in New York in 1902 as Saks & Company.
      • In 1925, it was Adam Gimbel who redesigned the store in the Art Moderne Style.
      • In 2013, the Hudson’s Bay Company (HBC), purchased Saks Fifth Avenue’s parent company for US$2.9 billion.
      • On January 6, 2014, Marigay McKee became president of Saks Fifth Avenue.

All this history and they still know how to throw a good party.  Thank you haute-historic Saks, always entertaining InStyle Magazine and the luxury publishing house Assouline

Your “high stepping” party kept us on our toes.

My question for the evening . . . “who designed your favorite pair of shoes?”  Read below to learn which design house was a step above . .  .. . .

                                          1. Before leaving the vehicle, make certain that you
usually engage the emergency brakes initial. The five of us stopped at the gate and
gasped in unison. Cheap hire vehicles are in abundant supply these days.
