Thawed (momentarily) from the cold winter weather it felt like a spring evening in Manhattan. This helped make the annual Spring Benefit Dinner given by the NEW YORK SCHOOL OF INTERIOR DESIGN a festive celebration.
NYSID honored MARIETTE HIMES GOMEZ AND CHARLES JENCKS at this classy, dressy, flawlessly fussy, festive event.
I strolled the 5 or 6 blocks from the DDB to 583. The first glamour sighting was NBC television personality, Elaine Griffin stepping out of a taxi right in front of our destination. There was a kind of old school feeling . .. but only for a moment and then the magnificence unveiled. A quiet roar of astute conversation hummed throughout the evening as guests enjoyed a fully stocked open bar and scrumptious appetizers (tuna tartar and miniature plates of mushroom risotto, etc) passed on silver trays by dozens of waiters uniformed in white coats during the 7-8 cocktail hour.
More than 180 Architects, Designers, Publishers, Board Members, Trustees, Professors and Manufacturers attended the elegant cocktail and dinner gala. It was a winsome and memorable event.
Quick Facts about The New York School of Interior Design * Private not-for-profit *736 students enrolled *32% admitted *$22,356 annual cost to attend depending on program.
I received some constructive feedback on a few of my blog stories. More pictures – less words. Happy to oblige . . . enjoy
