More than 500 design enthusiasts attended the divine cocktail event for DIFFA’s Dining By Design 2014 and the Architectural Digest’s Home Design Show. DIFFA celebrates its 30th year as one of the largest contributors of service and education programs for HIV/AIDS in the United States.
DIFFA: Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS launched its 17th annual DINING BY DESIGN tour with 5 days of events running concurrently with the Architectural Digest Home Design Show at Pier 94, 12th Ave. at 55th Street in New York City.
As in years past, the event brings together some of the most talented and celebrated individuals in the worlds of fashion, interior design, art, and architecture. The goal is to create spectacular, over-the-top dining environments that keep our sophisticated design community buzzing.
This year featured awe-inspiring dining installations from the likes of ………….
Diane von Furstenberg, Jamie Drake, Robert Verdi, Kara Mann, Margaret Russell, Marc Blackwell, Fendi Casa, Ralph Lauren, FLEXFORM, Calvin Klein, Gensler, Herman Miller, Maya Romanoff and Roche Bobois, among many other well established design groups. Adding a little spice to the mix, there were elegant installations from prominent New York City design schools including Pratt Institute, Fashion Institute of Technology and the New York School of Interior Design, bringing the next generation of designers to the forefront of the design community.
Patron returned as the liquor sponsor, reminding us that Tequila is not their only liquor. . . . Gulp. Scrumptious appetizers and food stations were provided by a spoon full of famous NYC eateries like Pera SoHo (one of my favorite dining spots)…. It was a “who’s who and to do” at this hot ticket party. Thank you DIFFA for the delectable event !! The pictures below are main course in this two-part feast of images . . . . savor and save room for dessert !
