The reviews are in and it was a marvelous kick off for the seventh annual Holiday House. Traditional Home hosted the Opening Gala with proceeds to benefit the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. 400+ in attendance . . .delicious non-stop tray pass nibbles. . (6) open bars, not that I was counting – someone else told me., . .. the 2nd floor had live percussion tunes sounding out from the clever Caribbean Island Holiday room by Gary McBournie and on the ground floor there were soothing jazz sounds of Chris Gillespie‘s trio in the masterfully crafted Roman Holiday suite by Ally Coulter.
On the top floor of the Academy Mansion is handsome Justin Shaulis’s nod to Miami’s infamous Art Basel which included a 1975 Warhol screenprint of Mick Jagger. The sparkle and glimmer space called “Reflection” by Natalie Kraiem touts mirrors and reflective elements . . hmmmm maybe that’s why I like it.
Holiday House was founded by Iris Dankner to raise breast cancer awareness in the design industry. Iris is a seventeen year breast cancer survivor, and has made it her mission to raise funds for breast cancer research and women who need help fighting this disease.
