Talented and well dressed designers Kenneth Alpert and Andrew Petronio are principals at KA Design Group, a residential design firm of 18 people, whose philosophy is committed to innovative design and un-paralleled service. With offices in New York City, Bridgehampton and Palm Beach, Ken and Andrew have been collaborating diverse projects that include art-deco, traditional and transitional styles.
KA Design Group celebrated its 40th Anniversary with elegance and sophistication. Guests were invited to the magical High Line Hotel on 10th Avenue in Manhattan. This property is an Historic Landmark and served as the General Theological Seminary in Manhattan’s Chelsea neighborhood.
The majestic grounds—once Clement Clarke Moore’s 17th-century apple orchard—and awe-inspiring cathedral are a piece of New York City history (‘Twas the Night Before Christmas” was penned here). I may return to write my own book. (smile)
The gated Parisian style courtyard complete with lush gardens demarcated by gas lamps, beckons passers-by to step into a different era. The centuries-old collegiate Gothic-style brick buildings lend an air of gravitas without overwhelming the property. Step inside, however, and timeless design shares center-stage with timely design.
The event gathered more than 400 people. There was a full open bar and the food was endless, tray pass appetizers, dinner, dessert and probably foodie bags too. Ken and Andrew were in fine form, each reading a heart felt thank you to those who have long supported their efforts to bring luxury design to their wealthy client roster.
I am still in shock after seeing the enthusiasm and praise for the KA Design Group. Thank you Kenny, Andrew and the marvelous team for the FANTASTIC party. Your 40 years have made a great impact on interior design and client loyalty.
