There are lots of blueprints for hosting a notable party. Interior Designer and new ASID President-elect Robin Baron has one of those diagrams. The annual holiday celebration for ASID was held at the Artistic Tile showroom in Manhattan.. . . and let me just say – the party was a splendid burst of lighthearted pleasure.
The open bar was tended by smiling volunteers who poured generously. There were snack tables filled with meats, cheeses, crackers, shrimp, nuts and dips conveniently located in the center of the stone and tile showroom. The roar of conversation and laughter hummed throughout the storefront space.
One of my favorite moments was when Ms. Baron pointed her finger directly at DJ Ebaum who returned the gesture by turning it up and turning it out with classic dance tunes. A boisterous dance session evolved – who knew the design community liked to dance and could bust a move?
It was fun to see Catarine Wright, Charles Pavarini, Patrick Hamilton, Arlene Angard, Adrian Levin, Lisa McMahon, Yumi Kim, Rebecca Vicars, Phylliss Harbinger, Richard Segal, Louis Navarrete and so many others at this energetic holiday event.
Thank you Robin Baron, ASID Metro Chapter, Artistic Tile and DJ Ebaum. Your cheerful and exuberant event was perfectly drafted and designed.
Artistic Tile is a family-run business, offering thousands of stocked tile and natural stone products for immediate delivery, as well as in-house design services and complete custom capabilities.

Of the Society’s 20,000 practicing interior designers, 6,500 practice primarily in the commercial field with 4,000 practicing primarily as residential designers. The remaining 9,500 work in both commercial and residential design.
ASID’s Industry Partners include more than 3,500 member firms and individual representatives, uniting the professional designer with manufacturers of design-related products and services. ASID’s membership also includes 7,500 students of interior design.
The association has 48 chapters throughout the United States and more than 450 international members. ASID was founded in 1975 with the consolidation of the American Institute of Decorators (AID) and the National Society of Interior Designers (NSID).
Professional members of ASID must pass rigorous acceptance standards: they must have a combination of accredited design education and/or full-time work experience and pass a two-day accreditation examination (National Council for Interior Design Qualification – NCIDQ).

Fab photo story on a fabulous event thank so you so much Rio, for this wonderful tribute! You are a rock star!
They had out sparkling water, wines, champagnes, etc. for all of us upon arrival at events in NYC, and provided dishes and serving utensils for the bagels and other snacks we brought.
Thanks for such a great recap. I was unable to attend due to a conflict, but this made me feel like I was there.
