The Winter Antiques Show marks its 62nd year as the most prestigious art, antiques and design fair in America. It features the “crème de la crème” from Antiquity through the present. Held at the historic Park Avenue Armory in New York City, the Show provides new and established collectors, curators, dealers and design professionals with opportunities to view and purchase exceptional pieces showcased by 73 exhibitors. One-third of the Show’s exhibitors are specialists in Americana – the rest feature English, European and Asian fine + decorative arts.
The Young Collectors Night was an elegant evening with a gathering of style aficionados from all over the world. After checking our coats, my very attractive friend Dana Sandberg of Best & Co. escorted me to my other attractive friend Danielle Colding. (I’m not shy – I just like being escorted) How wonderful to see Danielle glow while she quietly gushed about expecting her first child. Danielle has her own successful Interior Design firm and has become a recognizable TV personality. She has an eye for fine collectables and was the perfect companion to stroll through the wide isles and well appointed rooms that formed the 2016 Winter Antique Show.
Danielle Colding + Rio Hamilton I quickly spied my other dates for the evening – a resplendent couple; Dustin O’Neal (PR Company called DNA) and Jon Call (Interior Design Phenom) –
“DuJon” –
I just made that up. They may already have another celeb combo moniker – I’ll check with them and let you know. |

Sultry DJ dance tunes hummed in the background as more than 2000 “Young Collectors” and their older friends browsed through the palatial industrial auditorium. Crowds poured in and out of beautiful vignettes designed by Liz O’Brien, Hyde Park Antiques, Donzella, Aronson of Amsterdam, Robert Young Antiques, Wartski Jewelry and dozens of superbly styled spaces.
There were plenty of moments – at the step and repeat – meet and greet – take a peek section of the show. New York Magazine was the official media sponsor of Young Collectors Night. Their legendary Design Editor, Wendy Goodman greeted us in elegant fashion with gracious hospitality.
Tres’ chic Tres’ chic Tres’ chic.

The Winter Antiques Show is an annual benefit for East Side House Settlement, a community resource in the South Bronx that celebrates its 125th anniversary in 2016. East Side House’s programs focus on education and technology as gateways out of poverty and as the keys to economic opportunity. All revenues from the show’s general admissions and the net proceeds from the preview parties and other events go East Side House and contribute substantially to its private philanthropic budget. No part of sales made by exhibitors is received by East Side House.
It was a terrific event!
