Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2014 – Dream Hotel sponsors the Allison Parris show in the Penthouse Lounge / Terrace in downtown Manhattan. Hundreds and hundreds of fashionistas attended this 5pm-9pm event 20 stories high in the sky. Cocktails were not free, but the party was extremely festive. Many unknowns, a few celebs (Jessica Alba, Trudie Styler, Aziz Ansari) and lots of fashion industry insiders (Ellie Krupnick, Steven Kolb), watched as the cocktail waitresses wearing the latest PARRIS designs strutted the floor while bringing guests their drinks.
The weather was cool, crisp and the sunset was brilliant above our magical city. A common conversation was the absence of “Fashions Night Out” and 3 year old annual event that seems to be bumped from this Fall’s fashion agenda. Anna Wintour said “not this year” and that was that ! FNO has been dogged by skepticism of how much revenue is actually generated. It was also noted that designers disliked planning an FNO event while orchestrating a Fashion Week Show. New York is the only city that has put FNO on hiatus.
Thank you Allison for the great fashion, groovy crowd and dance tunes . . . we enjoyed your party !!

About the Designer
Allison Parris, born in Santa Clarita, California and raised in Birmingham, Michigan, grew up in a creative household where artistic development was highly encouraged. Her mother, Heidi Parris- founder of Parris Interior Design, began sharing her knowledge of fabrics, design and construction very early on, while her father, Michael Parris- writer, photographer and public relations consultant, continuously stressed the importance of visual presentation and branding.
Allison began her professional training in fashion design, pattern-making and sewing in her early teenage years and was designing evening gowns for clients throughout the Detroit area before she graduated high school. She continued to develop her talent at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City, while working with staples of the American Fashion industry including Catherine Malandrino and Cynthia Rowley. Carving a name for herself designing custom evening and bridal gowns, Allison developed her classic, feminine style and gained recognition for these iconic looks.
About the Collection
The eco-friendly and socially conscious Allison Parris New York Collection is built around the idea that “retaining moral values” and “being able to wear beautiful, well made clothing” are not mutually exclusive actions. While keeping a feminine and sophisticated appeal, Allison Parris New York utilizes organic silks, fabrics made of recycled materials and factories within Manhattan in order to create a better clothing experience for their clients.
