TexWORLD USA

TexWORLD USA

TexWorld USA took place in NYC from July 17-19. TEXWORLD USA (partner of TEXWORLD Paris) is a dynamic industry design, fashion and trend event bringing together the best global textile, apparel, trim and accessory suppliers.

TexWorld USA and coinciding shows: Apparel Sourcing USA and the highly anticipated digital-printing focused trade-event, Avantprint USA set a new record in attendance this year at the Javits Center in Manhattan.

I arrived early on day 1 and enjoyed the wide isles and colorful themes throughout the expansive show. Like most trade shows – there was a bevy of small booths with a niche product and larger spaces with a department store panache.

The shows have become an exciting industry event and a place for influencers to connect. TexWORLD USA presented a Summer 2017 Seminar Series, organized by Texworld partner and seminar organizer Lenzing Innovation, which provided the most comprehensive educational offering to-date.  The seminars, along with the floor sessions and the roundtables demonstrated that education has been a top priority for Texworld.

On the second night, I met with some of the TexWorld USA executives, their clients, and fashion & lifestyle social influencers.  Dinner was at the newly restyled Union Square Cafe.  Besides a delicious meal, there was a variety of global business chatter and interesting facts about the textile industry in general. And you know how I like my facts . . .

                          • The world menswear industry should exceed $502 billion in 2018.
                          • Nearly 46% of apparel products sold in the US are imported from China.
                          • People who live in Manhattan spend the most on clothing at $462 per person per month.

You can just imagine the many ways our dinner conversation was woven and sewn together.  Thank you TexWorld USA and GitaPR – your global textile influence has inspired the world.
