A major highlight of the design season, Holiday House NYC has opened to the public for its 11th year. Designer Iris Dankner founded the annual show house to raise funds for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF)—because as Ms. Dankner, a survivor of the disease herself, has been known to say, “Every day in remission is a holiday.” Located in a newly refurbished townhome on Manhattan’s Upper East Side, this year’s house features the work of 22 firms with stylish Creatives at the helm.
The townhome/mansion is open 6 days a week (closed on Mondays) and Thursdays are designated for late nights or at least until 8 pm. The photos in this story are from the glamorous opening night party. All 6 floors were overflowing with stylish guests. The top floor spa and pool had a beautiful mermaid and studly lifeguard on duty. There were champagne, wine and lite bites at the mansion while the afterparty (just a block away) had dancing and bigger bites along with an open bar. Yes, Iris knows how to host a good party . . .
