    Alexa Hampton

    Occupation . . .

     Interior Decorator & Designer

Tell me about a project or accomplishment that you consider to be most significant in your career

The next one? I have so many moments in my career that have

excited me, but I suppose for sheer sentiment, my own

apartment thrills me the most. I love it.

What things do you not like to do  . . .

I do not like exercise. I do not like paperwork. I do not like

    going to playgrounds.

What is your perfect pizza . . .

      Truffle Pizza

What kitchen utensil do you use most frequently . . .

My husband. He is a great cook.

Who is your secret celebrity crush . . .

Young Sean Connery was magnificent. Who else could wear a

pale blue terry cloth onesie with a zipper front as he did in

Goldfinger? His legs are things of beauty. I think I’m starting to

sound a little creepy, so I’ll stop.

          Are you a night owl or a morning person . . .

          Night Owl

What time of day were you born . . .

          5:50 am

Do you know your heritage . . .

Yes. My father’s side is English and German, my mother’s side

          is Irish and German.

Do you follow astrology? What is your zodiac sign . . .

Yes. I’m a double Taurus with an Aries moon.

          Essentially, I’m insane

What would your DJ Name be . . .

            DJ Egg’nDart

            Do you have a favorite number . . .

            11 and 13

How many pairs of shoes do you own . . .

Innumerable pairs of wildly varying quality.

Do you have a favorite fashion magazine . . .

             Vogue

              What is your “go-to” fashion brand . . .

I love Gap & Theory for the basics. I frequently rely on Issa

and Matthew Williamson for party dresses.

If we were to peek in your closet, the dominant color would be . . .

Black, because I mostly wear a uniform

What is your present state of mind . . .

              Happy and Optimistic.

It’s 6pm at your favorite bar or restaurant, what drink do you order . . .

A frozen pomegranate margarita, but only one. After that, if I

have another drink, it is a full bodied red wine on ice.

              I know: disgusting.

Do you awake with or without an alarm . . .

With an alarm and after many attempts.

Uber, Taxi, Subway or Citi Bike . . .

                Uber, Taxi  or walking.

What song is ready to play on your playlist . . .

Right now, it’s The Weekend’s Can’t Feel My Face; otherwise,

it is Stevie Wonder’s Superstition or something by Earth, Wind

                & Fire or Jamiroquai.

What is the last photo you took with your cell phone . . .

Yesterday, while driving home from a wedding, my twin boys

fell asleep and I turned around to find my baby daughter doing

this in the 3rd row of our Suburban.

One of the best lessons my parents taught me is to . . .

Be polite. It has served me well in life. Having said that, I am an

epic failure with thank you notes and will surely go to Hell for it.

                  It is my private shame.

What is your favorite work of art . . .

I couldn’t possibly say, that’s an unfair question. Does Florence,

Italy count as an answer? If not, my top 5 painters are Velazques,

                  Titian, Manet, Sargent, and Hammershoi.

                      Vilhelm Hammershøi’s

What is your favorite building in Manhattan . . .

For a skyscraper, I adore the Chrysler building, of course, but I

really love the Met and the Public Library best.
