It was once said, “Nothing unimportant ever happens at The Plaza.” One of America’s most celebrated hotels, The Plaza opened its doors on October 1, 1907. Located at Fifth Avenue and Central Park South, this luxury hotel was constructed in the most fashionable residential section of New York City.
The Plaza Hotel was so well known that Ernest Hemingway once advised F. Scott Fitzgerald to give his liver to Princeton and his heart to The Plaza. The #Carlos’s Places book signing was at the ASSOULINE Bookshop in the mezzanine.
Carlos Souza is known the world over for his über-chic and fun-loving style.
He is the Worldwide Brand Ambassador for Valentino and CEO/ Creative Director of his jewelry design company
“Most Wanted Design”.
Carlos is also an author of a noteworthy new book called #Carlos’s Places which is printed by the internationally celebrated publishing house ASSOULINE.

This book is a guide to some of his favorite places around the globe—from New York and Paris to São Paulo, London, Rome, or Shanghai. In each location, Souza notes the best the city has to offer by listing his preferred spots to dine, dance, shop, see art, or just get a drink.
Along with finding unique fashion (remember Mr. Souza works with Valentino) and design places of interest, Mr. Souza has included little notes on each location, like a familiar travel diary you share with good friends. Updated for today’s traveler who wants to know the chic destination spots in some of the most stylish cities in the world.
The swank book signing party gathered more than 140 friends, socialites, models, journalists, and philanthropists including Martine Assouline, Brian Atwood, James Anderson, Elizabeth Callender, Amy Fine Collins, Marjorie Gubelmann, Pilar Guzman, Joe Lucas, Carlos Mota, Margaret Russell, Lauren Santo Domingo, Nadejda Savcova, Martha Stewart and Jamie Tisch.

“Spirituality is a powerful component of your soul, of what you really are. The more you shine, the more you give to people, the more power you have. I’ve been blessed with so much beauty and so much good life and I feel it’s my duty in this life to share it with friends and even with strangers on the street. I’ll always have a smile for someone.” Carlos Souza
