The moment you knew you wanted to be in the Interior Design World
I’ve known since I’m 9 years old and have a grade school ”composition” to prove it!
Tell me about a project or accomplishment that you consider to be most significant in your career?
I’m grateful that I’ve had many significant accomplishments in my career that I’m very proud. Most recently, I’d say it’s launching my own line of home furnishings. It’s the fulfillment of a lifelong dream!
What are elements of your signature style
I always say that “you never know where you’ll find inspiration, so always have an open mind and an open eye”. Everything I do is infused with a modern mix of glam, luxe and a twist of something unexpected.
Are you a night owl or a morning person
Definitely a night owl! I love staying up late…it’s my special time alone.
What kitchen utensil do you use most frequently
Well…second to a phone (to order up!)…the custom live-edge cutting boards I designed for my new kitchen.
Describe your perfect pizza
Now you’re talking…a good pizza is my favorite food! I dream about a coal oven, Margarita pizza with fresh mozzerella and every veggie available on top! Guess what I’m going to have for dinner tonight?

I was born at about 2 Am…maybe that’s why I’m such a night owl!

I know a bit about astrology. I’m an Aquarius with a Sagittarius rising and a Cancer moon. If you know a bit about astrology and know me…this makes perfect sense! I’m a creative humanitarian with an outgoing personality and my life centers around my home and family.

Do you have a favorite number
Yes, 7…it’s always been my favorite number for as long as I can remember! my second favorite is 9.
How many pairs of shoes do you own
Oh, my! Way too many to count and more than I can wear. It’s definitely an addiction!
Do you have a favorite fashion magazine
W and Elle, but the best place for fashion has to be the streets of NYC! Unless of course, you happen to be in Paris.
What is your “go-to” fashion brand
I like to be eclectic and don’t follow, or buy, mostly one designer. That said, I always love Alexander McQueen and I recently bought a great Lela Rose, off the shoulder, pant outfit that I love.
If we were to peek in your closet, the dominant color would be
I don’t think I even have to answer that…EVERYONE knows the answer to that…BLACK! I wear it almost exclusively!
What is your present state of mind
Politics and world affairs aside, I’m grateful for all of the opportunities and feeling positive about life. I believe “the thoughts you think to create the life you live.” If we can all find gratitude in our lives and things to be positive about, we can change the world one person at a time!
It’s 6 pm at your favorite bar or restaurant, what drink do you order
One of two: a Kir Royal or a perfect, pale pink, shaken Cosmo, served in a Martini glass with just the bare hint of thin ice from shaking it perfectly before serving!
Do you awake with or without an alarm
Always and forever, without alarms. I find them too jarring, I’ve never needed one. I have an internal alarm that I set every night and it’s never failed me!

What is your favorite work of art
I LOVE art. It transforms a home and feeds my soul. I don’t have one single favorite, but I do have an affinity for modern abstract art!
What is your favorite building in Manhattan
I don’t even know where to begin, you just have to look up to be neverendingly inspired! Right now, I’m loving world-renowned Danish architect Bjarke Ingels’ new building, Via 57 West.
Robin is very active in the national design community. She is the past President of ASID, New York Metro Chapter and on the Board of several charitable organizations. Giving back is important to Robin. She has been involved in Showhouses and charitable events such as HOLIDAY HOUSE, Ronald McDonald House Project Design, Housing Works’ Design on a Dime, Lenox Hill Neighborhood House, DIFFA, American Cancer Society Hope Lodge, and is the founder of an independent living program for high-functioning young adults on the autistic spectrum.
Robin is inspired by everything around her and always says, “You never know where you’re going to find inspiration so always have an open eye and an open mind.” Her positive energy follows her wherever she goes!
